The camera lens is one of the most important pieces of the camera.  No matter what kind of picture you are taking, the camera lens can make or break your picture. Whether they are old cameras or new cameras, all of them use lenses. Most of the time people are using a normal or standard lens. They do make other types of lenses, but for the most part, the average person uses the standard lens. A standard lens for a 35mm camera is usually around 50mm.

The great news about normal lenses is the fact that they are very cheap to make, which usually means that they are pretty cheap to buy. The other plus side, besides the cost, would have to be the fact that a normal lens allows you to take pictures in rather low light. Other types of lens require a certain amount, and that is why you usually see those kinds of lenses being used only by professionals. Most of the time you can use them without tripods as well.
